It's All About Me - How I Best Learn!

In response to kallas's blog, here is where you can find what i'm writing about.About Me Prompt

My Learning Style(s)
I am an auditory learner. So I do better just listening and I don't have to do hands on or have to see it. For example when i'm studying noise is really distracting distracting or when i'm just working on anything noise distracts me very easily. My favorite learning activity is when we do group work and we sit there discussing the topic. But I don't wanna have to walk around everywhere looking for something.

Auditory Learners

My Multiple Intelligences
My Multiple intelligences capacities summary is that i'm 50% Visual Spatial and 50% Naturalist.
-Visual Spatial is where the earner generally thinks in pictures, rather than in words. For example if i'm reading i will picture in my head what is happening.
-Naturalist is something that has to do with observing, understanding and organizing patterns in the natural environment. For example I love to be outdoors and I just like to sit and look around outside.

Visual Spatial
Naturalistic

My Hemisphericity Preference
I am Analytical and some of my characteristics are that I like competition,I prefer options,I remember details,I like to organize assignments, and I like to do one task at a time. When I comes to asking my teachers something I will ask if spelling counts,if we skip lines or will this be on the test.

My True Colors

  • Spontaneous
  • Physical
  • Competitor
  • Immediate
  • Impulsive
  • Adventurous
  • Open Minded

My Biggest Challenge as a Future Teacher

Here is the prompt of my essay Beyond the Blackboard Prompt.

The day I would start teaching some challenges I would encounter would be to get the students to trust me ,and that I would be there for them.To get their trust I would tell them stuff about me and ask if they would want to share anything. For example, I would tell them if I was married and if I had any children or pets, and why I wanted to become a teacher. I would tell them where I came from ,and then I would let them ask me any questions they wanted to.
Another challenge would be if they didn't have any materials and didn't have the money to get the materials I would try to help.I would see what they would need and get some of the stuff for them. For example,If they need pencils I would go out and by them some pencils or journals.I would buy them Some essential items for school.
The next problem would be discipline because you don't know why their acting like this so if its just one student. I would call them up and ask whats wrong or why are you doing this and if their doing just because. I would give them a warning and if they did it again I would send them to the office and write them up.But if it was the whole class acting up I would tell them to settle down and do their work. But if that didn't work I'm going to  tell them they have to sit quietly and do their work .and if they don't they're getting sent down to the office.

Early History of Education in America

Here is were you will find what i'm writing about, i have suggested to write about B Prompt.

During the Great Depression the teachers continued to teach even though they would either get paid little or not at all ,because i think they wanted to see the student get a education and have them feel smart and have them succeed. The motivation they had was to see their students succeed. If I was a teacher during that time and i could choose to teach or to leave.I would stay and teach because i would want to see the students succeed and become what they want. For example, if the student or students don't get it i'm not going to leave them i'm going to stay and teach them.If I saw a teacher quit i would ask him/her students about what they were learning and i would try to teach them.I don't really know what factors i would weigh in this situation, but i would think about the student and where they are at in the lesson.

The Water is Wide Reflection

Recently in Mrs. Kallas's class we reviewed the movie The Water is Wide. You will find my responses here Blog Prompt.

1.) Education has changed; the discipline is different because the teachers don't hurt the student now they will give them a detention or d-hall.

4.)Mr.Conroy inspired his children to learn by taking them on field trip to Washington D.C and having a projector that projected historians on the wall and they would call out that historian.

5.)Mr.Conroy got the community to support him be showing them that their kids can actually learn, and that he is why they have their education.

6.)The roadblocks he encountered with his coworker was that Ms.Brown didn't think that Mr.Conroy was teaching the kids the right way.

The Leader in Me!

Leadership Observed

A couple of similarities between a teacher and a leader are that they both have to be patient, trustworthy, and helpful. They both have to be patient because some of the students wont get it and you might have to keep describing it to them. They also have to be trustworthy because the students might have to tell them stuff about whats going on at home or at school.Leaders and teachers have to helpful because if someone doesn't get it and not leave them behind.
